Junior Black Belt Program

Established to acknowledge and reward young students for their perseverence and dedication to the ideals of Uechi Ryu Karate. The physical components of our curriculum assist children in developing better balance, coordination, and flexibility. We teach self defense skills in a safe and friendly environment and convey these lessons within the context of respect and responsibility. The character development component of our curriculum includes teaching children to identify and integrate values such as respect, self control, and responsibility into their daily lives. These components are interwoven in their weekly lesson plans.

S.T.A.R. Program

(Stop, Think, Act, Review or Success Through Accepting Responsibility) Our innovative children's curriculum features the S.T.A.R. Program in the Martial Arts character education program. This 12 month program provides a framework to teach and reinforce the values of respect and responsibility. Each month a new theme is presented such as "How can I show respect?", "How can I remain healthy?" and has a corresponding activity. The student learns to apply these concepts not only in their martial arts training, but also in their academic and home environments as well.

Academic Superstar

This program is designed to reward and recognize our students for their academic effort in school and teach them that we value education. Patches are worn on the uniform after the student fulfills certain academic requirements.
